  • Eligibility:

    Length of stay

    • On the temporary 820 visa, you can stay until a decision is made about your permanent Partner visa (subclass 801).
    • On the permanent 801 visa, you can stay permanently

  • Eligibility:

    1.You must be married or in a de facto relationship with:
    • An Australian citizen or
    •An Australian permanent resident or
    • An eligible New Zealand citizen.

    Length of stay

    • On the temporary 309 visa, you can stay until a decision is made about your permanent Partner visa (subclass 100).

    • On the permanent 100 visa, you can stay permanently

This visa lets the de facto partner or spouse of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen live in Australia. The partner visa is a two stage process. To be eligible for a permanent partner visa you first need to be granted a temporary Partner (Provisional) visa. You apply for both the permanent and temporary visas at the same time and pay only one fee.

  • There are many visa types of parent visas.
    You might be eligible to apply for a parent category visa if:

    • You have a child who is an Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident, or an eligible New Zealand citizen

    •Your child has been living in Australia lawfully for at least 2 years before you lodge your visa application

    • You have a sponsor

    • You meet the Balance of family test criteria

    •You meet health and character requirements.

This visa is for parents with children that are Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident, or an eligible New Zealand citizen

  • If granted this visa and you and your spouse want to settle in Australia, apply for a Partner Visa (subclass 820 and 801):

    •After you are married, and

    • Before your Prospective Marriage Visa ends

    You will pay less for the Partner visa if you apply for it while your Prospective Marriage Visa is still valid.

    Eligibility:

    1.Have a sponsor who is an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen

    2. Intend to marry your prospective spouse before the visa period ends

    3.Have met and know your prospective spouse

    4.Be at least 18 years of age.

    5.Must be outside Australia when you apply.

With this visa, you can:

•Stay in Australia for up to 9 months from date of grant of visa

• Work in Australia

• Study in Australia at your own expense

•Travel to and from Australia as many times as you want
